Pictures From Our Trip

We found a pair of my grandmas glasses in her car, super sexy! She is giving the car to my dad, so it was our ride home. Some of the tapes were quite memorable as well, but the tape player didn't work so we couldn't check out all the old tunes she left us.

All the grandkids : )

My dad, aunt and Mor-Mor.

Mor-Mor is great friends with Kevin Henkes parents so she was showing me her signed book (first edition!!) and the trinkets she got from his parents one Christmas. She was so happy to have Lily's Purple purse! She just adores Kevin, and its so crazy because no one else in my family really understood why I was so interested.......teacher at heart I guess! It was fun to look at all of the stuff with her.

On Saturday we had some time to kill, so we went by Lake Michigan. I was so excited to be there....so pretty!

My dad and I on day 2 of the road trip about to get on the road. Starting to get a little goofy!

On the way back to Texas we stopped in Rockford, Illinois where I was born, and visited some places from when I was a toddler. We moved to MN when I was just 5.

This was our old house.

My dad planted trees along the side of the house. Each tree represented one of the kids. My tree is on the far right. They were all still there, but my sisters tree wasn't doing too great. Hopefully, it will survive for many years to come. It's been about 20 years since we lived there.

We then stopped to visit my "Pop-Pop" and leave a flag by his grave for July 4th. This is where my grandma, aunt, uncle, and most likely my dad will lay to rest when their time comes. My grandpa was sure to have enough room for everyone in the family before he passed away in 1994. Again, a very bittersweet trip.

Our last stop before driving the 2 days home was to visit my dad's best friends house. We had a short but great visit and got a group shot before heading out on the road.

Finally, this is what I came home to from my hubby. He missed me so much, it was so adorable! How thoughtful and sweet!
